Initial setup guide

Once you've installed and enabled the AskTimmy app on store, you can do the initial setup using the setup guide. Let's get started!


Click on 'Go to settings'.

1. When you're on the Settings page, from the AI capabilities section you can enable required settings such as:

  • Answer product related queries- to help customers get instant answers for questions like:
- "Is this dress available in M size?"
- "Can I use this serum for dry skin?"
  • Recommend products- to suggest matching or complimentary products.
- “Looking at this black blazer? Would you like to see a formal trousers to complete the look.”
  • Enable recommending bundles- to display exciting bundles to increase your average cart value.
- “Pair it with these slim-fit pant and loafers for a complete summer look!”
  • Enable filter by pricing- to help customers shop in their budget.
- “Show me summer dresses under $2000"
  • Photo search helps your customer upload a product photo to find similiar or matching items.  (Note: This is available in the Pro Plan)


  • Answer order related queries can help your customers with queries on order status and tracking like:
- "Where is my order?"
- "When will I get delivery of my order?"

2. From the 'Chat settings' section, you can enable 'Lead generation' settings to get customers' details. You can use the details to send promotional emails and offers.

3. You can enable the 'Human handover' option to jump in whenever you need to answer your customers manually. 


  • Collect chat feedback helps you get feedback of the chat experience from customers.
  • Enable voice input to help customers talk instead of type (convert speech to text) especially helpful on mobile.


  • Store Description - Please ensure to add a description of your store. This will help the AI model to understand about your business and reply in a better way.

4. From the 'Appearance' section, you can choose the pages where you wish to display your chatbot. 


  • Custom CSS helps you add more customized appearance of widgets based on your preference. 

These are the basic setup to get started. You can learn more about the settings from the specific user guides. 

5. Go back to setup guide and click on 'Mark as complete'

6. Now click on 'Test on store' to see how the AskTimmy chatbot works on your store.

AskTimmy chatbot is now live on your store.
